Empowering Aspirations: The Story of Antarang Foundation

Antarang Foundation is at the forefront of solving one of India’s most pressing challenges—youth underemployment. With over 105 million youth classified as NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Technical Training) in India, the need for targeted career education and guidance has never been more urgent. Since its inception in 2013, Antarang has been transforming lives by bridging the gap between education and employability, enabling young people, especially from marginalized communities, to pursue aspirational careers and break the cycle of intergenerational poverty.

Antarang’s Mission and Impact

Antarang Foundation’s mission is to ensure that every young person, regardless of their socio-economic background, has the opportunity to pursue a career of their choice. Operating across five states, the foundation has already trained over 1,300 career facilitators and 700 state resources to deliver high-quality career education. These efforts have directly impacted the lives of 360,000 students, many of whom come from disadvantaged communities.

Antarang’s work has led to notable outcomes:

• 92.3% of students transition from high school to higher secondary education, surpassing the national average of 79.2%.
• 73% of students transition to higher education or vocational training, compared to the national average of 36%.
• Nearly 48% of alumni are now employed in high-wage and emerging sectors, including technology, banking, and sustainability.

The Need for Crowdfunding

While Antarang has made significant strides, the scale of the challenge demands even greater resources. The organization aims to impact 10 million youth by 2030, embedding career education into state-run school systems and advocating for national policy changes. Achieving these ambitious goals requires sustained funding for:

1. Expanding Reach: Scaling the program to underserved regions and schools.
2. Technology Integration: Enhancing tools like the WhatsApp Career Chatbot to provide 24/7 access to career guidance.
3. Capacity Building: Training more facilitators to deliver quality programs effectively.

Krishang Garg, a dedicated Grade 11 student, has taken up the challenge of raising ₹3 lakhs for Antarang Foundation. This contribution will not only support the foundation’s mission but also demonstrate the power of youth-led initiatives in driving meaningful change.
